KS1 Homework

Homework for Years 1 and 2 is set half termly and information is put into homework books. Homework books are sent home on Thursday and we ask that they are returned every Tuesday. Homework is optional and parents have the right to withdraw their child from the homework programme. However, we encourage every parent to support this and are always happy to give guidance if required.

Children in Key Stage 1 will receive weekly spellings and reading and are expected to practise for approximately 5 - 10 minutes daily at home. The children will then be tested on these on a Tuesday in the back of their homework book. Homework books are sent home on Thursdays with the next set of spellings and the results.

For Maths the teachers will add links to websites to consolidate the learning that is taking place in class. These links will be added below each half term for you to access. If you have any problems please speak to your class teacher.

There are two extended writing pieces each half term. The success criteria for these are placed in homework books on the first Thursday of each half term.

There is also a longer piece of homework linked to the topic each half term.
